This session will introduce teachers to the philosophy and framework of the soon-to-be released Grade 11 History curriculum. The new curriculum is designed to engage students in historical inquiry based on a set of guiding questions about the History of Canada from pre-contact times to the present. A major rationale of the course is to help students develop historical literacy and to better understand the Canada of today. The session will also provide information about course organization, learning outcomes and enduring understandings as well as a preview of some instructional strategies.
