K-8 Social Studies Computer Lab

Presenter: Gary Evans Gary Evans is a retired primary teacher having taught Grade 2 and Grades 2/3 combined classes as well as Middle Years classes in his career. He is member of K-8 Manitoba Social Studies Inservice Team, and a presenter at SAG, Summer Institute, and various inservices in Manitoba at the K-8 levels. He previously taught teachers-in-training at University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg. He was involved in the writing of the Grades 5 and 8 Social Studies texts.

Description: The Manitoba Social Studies K-8 curriculum documents have listed many supporting websites for most of the Learning Experiences online at: The websites have been updated recently as to their availability. For this session, teachers would have an opportunity to search the sites that were most useful for each Learning Experience. A list of the most important sites could be established. Please bring any new websites that have been found that support any of the concepts in the Learning Experiences. They could be shared and viewed for their appropriateness.
